Cruz %J International Journal of Trends in Economics Management and Technology %D 2013 %I International Journal of Trends in Economics Management and Technology %X The objective of the study is to assess theextent of the implementation of developmentallyappropriate curriculum in the preparatory level in theeight schools in the Diocese of Novaliches as an aid inenhancing the development and enhancement of thecurriculum in the Diocese. This study made use ofdes cr ipt i ve survey type of re sea rch thatutilized locally constructed questionnaire as primarydata gathering tool. Essentially, the implementation ofDAC in the light of the fol lowing domains of thecurri culum namely , language compet ency ,cogni t i ve development , pe rsonaldevelopment , so cio- emot ional development ,and motor deve lopment was assessed in aid ofcurriculum enhancement. It is imperative that teachersincorporate a wide variety of experiences, materials andequipment, and teaching strategies in implementing thedevelopmentally appropriate curriculum toaccommodate a broad range of childrenĄ¯s individualdifferences in prior experiences, maturation rates, stylesof learning, needs, and interests. The identified gapsand weaknesses in the implementation of DAC in theDiocese of Novaliches can become a springboard inenhancing the curriculum, activities, and physical set upof the school in order to provide quality and meaningfuldevelopmentally appropriate practices amongpreparatory pupils. Though there is much strengthidentified in the implementation of DAC, the schools inthe Diocese of Novaliches cannot fully realize itssuccessful implementation not unless the vital issues andproblems have been addressed.
