Dadgar %J International Journal of Trends in Economics Management and Technology %D 2013 %I International Journal of Trends in Economics Management and Technology %X This paper considers three main purposes: examiningcorporate governance in listed companies on Tehran StockExchange (TSE), calculating the corporate governance qualityindex for 9 selected industries on TSE, and examining the impactof corporate governance (CG) and its indices on the performanceof 110 selected companies listed on TSE over the period from2001 to 2010. The main conclusions to be drawn from this studyare as follows: First a deep gap exists between CG and relevantlaws in Iran and the international standards which necessitatereforming the governance laws and regulations in Iran's capitalmarket. Second the CG quality index calculated for mostindustries is very low which indicates weak financial system andunclear performance of selected companies.
