%0 Journal Article %T A Software Architecture for Summarising and Interpreting ICU Monitor Data %A Apkar Salatian %A Peter Oriogun %J International Journal of Software Engineering %D 2011 %I Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) %X Medical staff in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) need to interpret the highvolumes of noisy data generated from the monitors attached to their patients.In this paper we propose a software architecture which processes the ICUmonitor data to remove clinically insignificant events and to provide enhancedclinical decision support to ICU staff in order to improve the quality of patientcare by giving accurate summaries.
