%X This is a current history that should not be confused with a single successful trajectory of a corporation of cooperative companies. Mondragon Cooperative Corporation, the seventh biggest private enterprise group from Spain, with more than 100,000 workers, which is inserted in sectors generally operated by private or public companies, must always be seen under the perspective of the social economy. The objective of this article is to reflect on the cooperative experience of Mondragon under the perspective of corporative socio environmental management. This research consisted of a 3-month participative observation through the experience from interviews, visits and secondary data. The conclusion is that currently such inspiration is weakened by the risk of a cooperative corporatism that seeks self-preservation and of the self-regulatory logic of the market. However, the experience shows strength, with inter and extra organizational innovations, critical thinking and pragmatism that surpasses mere criticism, before the ideology that has become barren while it preserves the inspiration of its founder.
