With postcolonial literature as a sound model of resistance, subalterns and erstwhile suppressed voices have started getting representation in marginal, Dalit or subaltern literature in general. No doubt, all these literatures rely upon the idea of resisting the meta-narratives and the mainstream literature, and so Indian Dalit literature is not an exception to it. The phenomenal works of Dalit literature are written by the authors in their regional languages and so it generally ignores the language of colonial masters. Use of their first language as the medium of expression is indicative of their commitment to condemn what is generally regarded as the language of power and authority. %K Dalit Literature %K Postcolonial %K Resistance %U http://deccanjournal.net/Pubpaper/Vol-Iss-2013-5.pdf
