Because of the ethical issues of interviewing teenagers, six young adults were involved in the research instead. During the research semistructured interviews were conducted and the collected data were analyzed by using structural and interpretative narrative approaches. Recollections of adultsĄŻ stories about their teenager experiences were organized into three coherent narratives: stories related to a changing family model, personal growth and ambivalent feelings. By connecting the meanings constructed by all the coherent narratives, a meaning different from those described in paradigmatic studies was extracted. a narrative approach towards the understanding of the phenomenon enabled us to demonstrate the multiplicity of teenagersĄŻ experiences: on the one hand, their difficulties encountered in the change of their role in the family, the different mode of communication, their sadness and anger due to the situation and, on the other hand, happiness about the freedom, pride of their parentsĄŻ trust in them and their willingness to grow up fast. %K parentsĄŻ emigration %K teenagersĄŻ experiences %K narrative paradigm %K qualitative research %U http://culturesociety.vdu.lt/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/7.G.Malinauskas_-M.Mozeryte-Paaugli%C5%B3-i%C5%A1gyvenimai-t%C4%97vams-dirbant-u%C5%BEsienyje-naratyvinis-rei%C5%A1kinio_KV21.pdf
