%X Pruning of deciduous fruit trees is a very important operation that allows easy access to the tree for harvesting, thinning,fertilization treatments and health. It also improves the interception and light distribution in the tree, directly affecting theformation of structures and flowers, ensuring a consistently high production quality fruit. You need to understand that pruning can integrate different techniques, including removal, shortening of branches and twigs, and manipulation (asfolds, bends, slopes and prints). In the life cycle of a plant, stands a pruning (to obtain a correct shape of the tree) and production pruning (to get good amount of fruit of excellent quality). Also can be rejuvenating pruning and pruning of recovery. But to say what is the best form of tree pruning and in the tropical highlands of Colombia, more research is needed. The Research and deciduous fruit production in altitude and the Scientific Research Institute of the Fundaci車n Universitaria Juan de Castellanos is working on these issues . La poda de los frutales caducifolios es una operaci車n muy importante que permite facilitar el acceso al 芍rbol para realizarla cosecha, raleo, tratamientos sanitarios y fertilizaci車n. As赤 mismo, mejora la intercepci車n y la distribuci車n de la luzen el 芍rbol, incidiendo directamente en la formaci車n de estructuras y flores, garantizando una producci車n elevada y constante de frutas de calidad. Es necesario entender que la poda puede integrar diferentes t谷cnicas que incluyen la eliminaci車n, el acortamiento de ramas y ramitas, y su manipulaci車n (como pliegues, dobleces, inclinaciones y grabados). En el ciclo vital de una planta, se distingue una poda de formaci車n (para obtener una correcta forma del 芍rbol) y otra de producci車n (para lograr buena cantidad de frutos de 車ptima calidad). Puede hacerse tambi谷n poda de rejuvenecimiento y de recuperaci車n. Pero, para decir cu芍l es la mejor poda y forma del 芍rbol en los altiplanos del tr車pico colombiano, se necesita mucha investigaci車n. El centro de Investigaci車n y producci車n en Frutales Caducifolios de altitud y el Instituto de Investigaciones Cient赤ficas, de la Fundaci車n Universitaria Juan de Castellanos, avanzan sobre estostemas.
