This is one of the most used instruments to measure fears in children. The instrument was applied to a sample of 400 children and youth ¨Cranging from 7 to 16 years old- from Bogota city. The results were similar - regarding validity and reliability- to the ones found in studies conducted in North America, England and Australia. In fact, a high rate of reliability was obtained for the total score of the level of fear and for the subscales. So, it can be concluded that -through the items-, it is measured the construct defined by the authors. It was found that the results for the sample of subjects in Bogota are consistent with theory andwith other studies in which girls report greater fear than boys. It also was confirmed that as age increases, the level of fear decreases. Finally, concurrent validity with the CMAS-R showed a moderate correlation between fear and anxiety, which is consistent with the theory. %K Fear Survey Schedule %K fear %K anxiety %K reliability %K validity %U http://www.uelbosque.edu.co/sites/default/files/publicaciones/revistas/cuadernos_hispanoamericanos_psicologia/volumen12_numero1/articulo_7.pdf
