Many of theexisting drugs have developed resistance and newer drugs are required with better activity profile. Veryfew drugs are available in the treatment of fungal infections that too have serious toxic effects. In the present investigation, an attempt was made to synthesize the new potential antifungal compounds (i.e. newer analogues of 4 ¨C aryl / alkyl ¨C 1 - (5, 5-diphenyl imidazolidone - 2'- yl) - 5 - thio-1, 2, 4-triazolidin-3-ones) using novel route from 2-thio-5, 5-diphenyl imidazolidone by reaction with solution of hydrazinehydrate followed by ethyl chloroformate and aryl/alkyl isothiocynate. It was observed that all thecompounds exhibited activity against Candida albicans. Minimum inhibitory concentration of the saidcompounds was determined by broth dilution technique. The activity of all the synthesized compounds was compared against Fluconazole (Standard 1) and Amphotericine B (Standard 2). %K Antifungal compounds %K 1 %K 2 %K 4-triazole %K MIC %K Candida albicans %K Amphotericine B %K Fluconazole %U http://www.eijppr.com/2%20Synthesis%20%20Evaluation%20of%20Antifungal%20Activity%20of%20Novel%201-(5%205-Diphenyl%20Imidazolidone-2%27-yl)-5-%20Thio-1%202%204-Triazoli.pdf
