%X Se transcriben dos informes sobre el terremoto que devast車 Chile central y otras regiones cercanas en 1730. Se trata de documentos originales, relativos a las ciudades de Santiago y Concepci車n, y el puerto de Valpara赤so. Fueron redactados por testigos presenciales del evento, jesuitas locales que escriben a su superior en Roma para dar cuenta del suceso y de sus consecuencias catastr車ficas. El acento de la informaci車n est芍 puesto sobre los antecedentes divinos que rodearon el evento, las caracter赤sticas que tuvieron el sismo y el maremoto que, en el caso de Concepci車n, remecieron cuerpos, casas y conciencias, as赤 como las condiciones materiales en que quedaron estas ciudades. Two reports have been transcribed on the earthquake that devastated central Chile and other nearby regions in 1730. These original documents relating to the cities of Santiago and Concepcion, and the port of Valparaiso, were written by eyewitnesses of the event, local Jesuits who wrote to their superior in Rome to give an account of the event and its catastrophic consequences. The focus of the information is placed on the divine history surrounding the event, the characteristics that had the earthquake and tsunami that, in the case of Concepci車n, rocked bodies, houses and conscientes; as well as the material conditions in which these cities were.
