This paper presents a novel method for background removal that processes only some pixels of each image. Some regions of interest of the objects in the image or frame are located with the help of edgedetector. Once the region is detected only that area will be segmented instead of processing the whole image. This method achieves a significant reduction in computation time that can be used forsubsequent image analysis.
