%X Although double articulation is considered to be one of the core features of human language, not much attention has been paid to it in the field of language origins and evolution. Lately, this abandonment has been partly reversed, but the incorporation of double articulation to evolutionary explanations has distorted the original linguistic notion. The paper aims at discussing two examples which clearly illustrate such a distortion.
