%X This article analyzes four books on the Portuguese writer E a de Queiroz (1845-1900), three of them, written by A. Campos Matos. In these books, the author discusses not only the work of the novelist and his relationship with Ramalho Ortig o (1836-1915) and Camilo Castelo Branco (1825-1890), Lusitanian other great writers of the nineteenth century, as the various biographies that were written about his life and work. The fourth book, written by the architect Rui Campos Matos, son of A. Campos Matos, brings the illustrations with which he sought "to portray" celebrities E a de Queiroz.
