%X Since the initial series, the study of grammatical rules are introduced. In this process, each year, the student is taken to review all that has he already studied in previous series on the grammatical content and advance learning other content. We reflect, then, if the student, after years of schooling, finds it difficult to use what they learned in English classes, what are these classes used for ? This paper aims to demonstrate that in the Portuguese language classes is the key that was developed sense of analysis and interpretation of the facts of language and the relation between words, statements and periods within an oral or written text. These elements represent a demonstration that the reader actually has a conscious mastery of the mechanisms of their language and thus understand what they read.
