%X After the Romanian Revolution of 1989, the interest of mass-media the national defense increased significantly. In order to understand the way the issues of national defense ware reflected in mass-media, we intend to analyze three aspects: the role of the media in the integration of Romania in NATO; the media and the Romanian military participation in the missions beyond the national borders;  the press campaigns controlˇ± considered  vulnerableˇ± to the national defense of Romania by the 2010 National Defense Strategy. We believe that the Romanian media can have an important role in raising the policy makers awareness with a view to improve the public policies for defense.
