%X Using a constructivist approach, the article explores the way Russian identity has been shaped during ¡±the Putin era¡± and the interplay between state monopoly in the field of natural resources and the conduct of foreign policy. In relation to the energy dialogue between EU and Russia, both a conflict of interests and a clash of identities and values can be identified.
