%X Some Evaluations on the Tereke Owners of Bal kesir from a Sociocultural Perspective (1670-1700)Bases of the Research: To analyze the tereke owners in the kadi sicils of Bal kesir from a sociocultural pespective.Purpose of the Research: To analyze&interpret the titles and family data of the tereke owners who lived in Bal kesir at the end of the XVIIth century and to compare the conclusions with other Anatolian cities have.Resources of Data: The tereke records, the kadi sicils.Main Discussion: What was the relationship between the titles and family data of people and their social status/positions?Conclusions: When we closely examine the titles of the tereke owners, we observe that it is not meaningful to speak of desicive boundary between asker  and reaya. Polygamy was uncommon (around %10) as have been pointed out by some previous works on the other Anatolian cities. But contarary to the findings of similar works polygamy was not more common in towns compared to rural area. Average number of children per family was just over 2; it is a little higher than the average in the villages while lower than it in the towns.
