The source wave is arbitrarily polarized and propagates in a general direction at the cylinders. The formulation utilizes the Hertz potential approach, and the scattering cross section and intensity distribution in the far-field are developed. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the influence of the absorbing medium on the scattering properties of two configurations of closely-spaced cylinders. %U http://dx.doi.org/10.1478/C1V89S1P055
