%X Le batir est un trait fondamental de la condition humaine. ¨¤ notre ¨¦poque, les r¨¦flexions en vue de mieux comprendre le sens ph¨¦nom¨¦nologique et anthropologique de l¡¯acte de batir se multiplient. La constante qui semble rallier ces r¨¦flexions consiste ¨¤ reconna tre l¡¯enracinement du sens de l¡¯acte de batir dans l¡¯habiter : le batir puiserait ainsi sa signification premi¨¨re dans l¡¯habiter. Ce ralliement et ce consensus semblent marquer ainsi ce que l¡¯histoire pourrait un jour d¨¦signer comme le   tournant   de l¡¯habiter en architecture. Il est maintenant permis d¡¯envisager et de construire le portrait global de cette activit¨¦ en usant de toutes les palettes de cou- leurs que comprend le spectre des facult¨¦s de l¡¯esprit humain : la po¨¦tique (l¡¯esth¨¦tique et la technique), la logique, la ph¨¦nom¨¦nologie, l¡¯herm¨¦neutique, la rh¨¦torique, la mystique et, bien s r, l¡¯¨¦thique. The act of building is a fundamental human condition. In our time, there is a growing body of reflections that aim to better understand the phenomenological and anthropological sense of the act of building. All these reflections recognize the meaning of the act of building in that of inhabiting: building would thus draw its fundamental meaning in the act of inhabiting. This consensus seems to mark what history may one day designate as the ¡°turning point¡± of inhabiting in architecture. It is now possible to consider and build the overall picture of this activity using all the faculties of the human mind: poetics (aesthetics and technology), logic, phenomenology, hermeneutics, rhetoric, mystique and, of course, ethics.
