Ca(NO3)2กค4H2O dissolved in absolute ethanol and (NH4)2HPO4 dissolved in distilled waterwere mixed under vigorous stirring. The pH of mixed solution was adjusted by 2 M aqueous NaOH toobtain pH =10 and 12, respectively and kept stirring for 24 hours at ambient temperature. Whiteprecipitates were dried and calcined at 800, 1000, 1200 oC for 4 hours. X-ray diffraction (XRD) datashowed HA along with secondary phases where at increasing temperatures the amount of secondaryphase/s increased. The suitable pH for synthesizing nanocrystalline HA in the present study was at pH= 10. In addition at 1200 oC, small amount of -tricalcium phosphate ( -TCP) appeared which isadvantageous for biomedical applications due to its bioactivity and bioresorbtion. Fourier transforminfraredspectroscopy (FTIR) results confirmed the presence of the main functional groups responsiblefor the formation of HA in samples prepared at pH =10. Finally, transmission electron microscopy(TEM) showed all the synthesized powders were in nano-regime with sizes ranging from 10-25 nm. %K Wet chemical %K Hydroxyapatite %K Calcinations %K Nano-particles %K Electron microscopy. %U http://scjubu.sci.ubu.ac.th/document/Eng/1_1_2010/4.pdf
