%X Epistemological aspects of public health. An approximation for debate.This essay tries to develop some ideas around epistemological aspects of public health. We analyze the impact of the globalization model on living conditions and health in our geographies,and its impact on epidemiological profiles as a consequence of a curative and mercantilist hegemonic model. We analyze the epistemic framework that shaped public health in modernity.The influence of the Cartesian-Newtonian paradigm as the conceptual matrix that has guided health care and management models in modernity. This is one particular way of the semioticmedical system that has sealed the production of senses according to the technical ratio as the founding pattern. Finally, this essay underlines the challenges of the new public health,especially those for the social construction of collective health from a perspective of complexity.
