%0 Journal Article %T The Implementation of Group Work in Hong Kong: A Case Study %A Simmi Ho-Yan TAM %J Asia-Pacific Forum on Science Learning and Teaching %D 2001 %I Hong Kong Institute of Education %X This article focused on the practical experience of a primary school teacher in applying group work in General Studies in Hong Kong. The followings are the main points for discussion: to offer some ideas for using cooperative learning effectively in primary school; to discuss the role of assessment in group work and provide readers with guidance for designing effective group assessments; to state the importance of teachers' professional development in this area; and, to suggest problems and limitations that may arise when cooperative learning is implemented.
