%X Se analizan 50 casos de carcinomas epiteliales de ovario tratados por el autor. Se hace estudio de la importancia del diagn車stico precoz y estadificaci車n quir迆rgica para tratar enfermos en forma correcta y no catalogar como estadio I, a un paciente que corresponde a estadio IV, quien por mala exploraci車n quir迆rgica, queda inadecuadamente diagnosticado y mal tratado. Igualmente se actualizan los conceptos de cirug赤a de intervalo y de la operaci車n llamada second look, cuando debe practicarse cada una de ellas y sus resultados. Se hace hincapi谷 sobre la importancia de la quimioterapia en el tratamiento del carcinoma epitelial de ovario, se mencionan las v赤as de administraci車n: sist谷mica, intraperitoneal, la cual, puede acompa arse de hipertermia. La cirug赤a extensa practicada por un ginec車logo onc車logo o por un cirujano onc車logo seguida de quimioterapia, son los 迆nicos m谷todos de tratar los carcinomas epiteliales del ovario. 50 cases of epithelial carcinoma of ovary treated by the author are analyzed, the importance of early diagnostic and correct surgical is emphasized as the only way to obtaining adequate treatment of these patients, and not catalogue a patient how stage I which corresponded a stage IV who for bad surgical exploration is under treating because a faulty diagnosis. The concept of interval surgery as well as second look operations is analyzed and, their results commented. The importance of the treatment with chemotherapy is emphasized and the ways of administration either systemic or intraperitoneal alone or with hyperthermia are discussed and their advantages analyzed. The conclusion is reached that radical surgery practiced by a well trained gynecologist oncologist or by an oncologycal surgeon followed by chemotherapy are at present the right way of treating an epithelial carcinoma of the ovary.
