%X El presente art¨ªculo expone los resultados de una investigaci¨®n que busc¨® evaluar la coherencia textual en forma autom¨¢tica, utilizando el m¨¦todo de An¨¢lisis Sem¨¢ntico Latente, en el dominio formado por noticias policiales. Con este fin se construy¨® una herramienta prototipo, empleando ¨²nicamente software libre, que se puede obtener desde Internet. Para validar el funcionamiento del prototipo se compar¨® su evaluaci¨®n con la realizada por ocho evaluadores humanos: cuatro periodistas y cuatro profesores de espa ol con estudios de postgrado en ling¨¹¨ªstica. This article presents the results of an investigation that aimed to assess textual coherence automatically, using the method of Latent Semantic Analysis in the domain formed by police news. For this purpose, a prototype tool was built using only free software, which can be obtained from the Internet. To validate the performance of the prototype, its evaluation was compared with that made by eight human evaluators: four journalists and four spanish¡¯s teachers with graduate studies in linguistics.
