%X This portrait which reappeared on the Madrid art market, does not represent Felipe IV but his younger brother the Cardinal Infante, victor at the battle of N rdlingen. The author revises the inventories, rejects a Flemish attribution, and concludes that the most likely hypothesis is that it is the ¡°painting of the Archduke¡±, n.o 590 in Vel¨¢zquez¡¯s 1660 inventory. El cuadro reaparecido en el comercio de Madrid que se estudia no representa a Felipe IV sino a su hermano menor el Cardenal Infante, vencedor en N rdlingen. Revisa los inventarios y desecha la autor¨ªa flamenca. Concluye con la hip¨®tesis muy probable de que ¨¦ste sea el ¡°cuadro del Archiduque¡±, n¨²mero 590 del inventario de Vel¨¢zquez de 1660.
