%X Theoretical foundations of intuition are reviewed in relation to processes of functional programming of behavior, subliminal perception, implicit and sensory-perceptual learning, that make possible a class of ¡°quick and dirty¡± automatic adaptive responses against situations of high emotional impact, what we have enominated intUIlligence. This form of intelligence regulates instinct, impulsive and unconscious behaviors that happen without a logical-formal processing of the environmental information, reason why the subject does not report volition or explicit control of them. Their potential determining effects are also analyzed on natural processes of the human behavior and on some psychopathological processes.
