%X La estructura pros車dica y la sint芍ctica corresponden a distintos planos de an芍lisis en una lengua; no obstante, existe una relaci車n entre ambas que constituye una herramienta potente a la hora de enfrentar oraciones sint芍cticamente ambiguas (Price et al. 1991:1). Existe evidencia robusta respecto a la preferencia de adjunci車n alta en oraciones ambiguas con cl芍usula relativa en el espa ol. La mayor parte de la investigaci車n respecto a la ambig邦edad en espa ol se centra en el estudio de la lectura en silencio con tareas on-line y off-line, observando el funcionamiento de la memoria operativa en este contexto. Pocos autores han incorporado el estudio de patrones mel車dicos subyacentes a este tipo de oraciones. El presente trabajo describe el patr車n pros車dico que subyace a las oraciones ambiguas con adjunci車n alta de la cl芍usula de relativo (CR) producidas por hablantes del espa ol de Concepci車n. Los enunciados fueron etiquetados con sistema ToBI y sometidos a una evaluaci車n perceptual para confirmar el patr車n mel車dico descrito de la adjunci車n alta de la CR como soporte fon谷tico-fonol車gico que acompa a a dicha adjunci車n. (Prosodic and syntactic structures correspond to different levels of analysis of language; however, there is a relation between them that constitutes a powerful tool when facing syntactically ambiguous sentences (Price et al. 1991:1). Robustevidence has been found in Spanish of the preference for high-attachment of the relative clause in syntactically ambiguous sentences. Most of the research concerning the topic has focused on finding out how people disambiguates these sentences when reading in silence with on-line or off-line tasks and how the working memory operates in doing so. Few researchers have incorporated the study of the underlying melody patterns in this type of sentences. The presentresearch describes the underlying prosodic pattern of ambiguous sentences with high attachment of relative clause produced by native speakers of Spanish from Concepcion. The recorded utterances were labelled with ToBI system and submitted to perceptual judgement to confirm the prosodic pattern of high-attachment preference of the relative clause as the phonetic-phonologic support that aids listeners to disambiguate this type of sentences.)
