%X Resumen Las nuevas pol赤ticas ambientales han reenfocado su visi車n, integr芍ndose a las necesidades colectivas y el entorno social. Para impactar se promueve la educaci車n, orientando a la cultura popular sobre los problemas que presenta el medio ambiente. Los nuevos fen車menos de contaminaci車n ambiental y los modelos urbanistas se integran en el asunto ecol車gico-biol車gico en busca de una armon赤a social, produciendo un reenfoque del pensamiento ambiental. La ciudad es parte del nuevo paradigma ambiental, donde se promueve un urbanismo sostenible lleno de estrategias ecourbanas, que fomentan el transporte colectivo como modelo de una nueva cultura de sustentabilidad. Parte de esto es respetar los espacios peatonales, aceras y plazas como elementos integrales a la defensa del ambiente. El nuevo pensamiento ambiental integra el urbanismo y el asunto ecol車gico. Abstract The new environmental politics have refocused their vision integrating themselves with collective necessities and their social environment. Education is promoted using popular culture as means of presenting the problems of the environment. The new phenomenon of environmental contamination and new urban models integrates itself in the ecologic-biologic problematic seeking social harmony, producing a refocused thinking of the environment. The city is part of this new ecological paradigm where sustainable urbanism is promoted using new ecourban strategies that encourage collective transport as a model to a new sustainable culture. Pedestrian spaces, sidewalks and squares must be respected and protected because they are essential elements in the preservation of the environment.
