(This article presents the manifestation of the first person 'I' as explicit subject in verbs of semantic processes and its emergency in discoursal strategies. It deals with one of the linguistic-discoursal mechanisms which constitute the presidential communicative circuit and which simultaneously contributes to the construction of the personal and political images of former President of Chile, Patricio Aylwin Az車car.)
