%X The main goal of this article is to refl ect about the scenario and the challenges of Rural Education in Brazil and in the Amazon, focusing on the concepts of countryside and rural education, major authors, subjects, challenges and perspectives of this educational modality. The refl ections focus on the two major themes of the Movement for Rural Education: 1) the inclusion of the demands of the fi eld on the political agenda of the country, 2) the construction of the concept of Rural Education.The article considers the design of educational public policies that have historically been offered to the fi eld, and refl ects on the challenges of Rural Education in the Amazon.The analyzes highlight the existence of great challenges for the provision of quality Rural Education, an education that considers heterogeneity and diversity, an education that values the country men and their rights. The article points out that although there have been meaningful improvements in the Brazilian legislation; they have not been enough for the affi rmation of Rural Education. The analyzes highlight the contradictions that are still present in the quality of the education offered; the article ends pointing out important elements for the theoretical debate about education for rural people in Brazil and in the Amazon.Resumo: Este artigo tem como principal objetivo refletir sobre o cen芍rio e os desafios da educa  o do campo no Brasil e na Amaz nia, situando os conceitos de campo e educa  o do campo, os principais autores, sujeitos, desafios e perspectivas dessa modalidade educativa. Nossas reflex es enfocam as duas importantes bandeiras de luta do Movimento por uma Educa  o do Campo: 1) a inclus o das demandas do campo na agenda pol赤tica do pa赤s; 2) a constru  o do conceito de educa  o do campo. Posteriormente situamos o desenho das pol赤ticas p迆blicas educacionais que t那m sido ofertadas historicamente para o campo e refletimos acerca dos desafios da educa  o do/no campo na Amaz nia. As an芍lises realizadas destacam a exist那ncia de grandes desafios a serem vencidos para a oferta de uma educa  o de qualidade no/do campo, uma educa  o que contemple a heterogeneidade e a diversidade dos sujeitos, que valorize o homem do campo e seus direitos. O artigo destaca que apesar de haver avan os significativos no ambito da legisla  o brasileira, estes n o t那m sido sufi cientes para a afirma  o da educa  o no/do campo. As an芍lises apontam as contradi  es que ainda se materializam na qualidade da educa  o ofertada e finalizam apontando importantes elementos para o debate te車rico acerca da educ
