%X Dedicamos este estudio a la adecuaci車n como un componente de la competencia socioling邦赤stica, sociocultural e intercultural en espa ol como lengua extranjera. Para ello, realizamos un tipo de investigaci車n estad赤stica cuantitativa con el programa SPSS 17 (Statistical Product and Service Solutions), en la que aplicamos el an芍lisis descriptivo y el inferencial. El instrumento del estudio es un cuestionario y los participantes son 59 alumnos de origen b迆lgaro que estudian el espa ol como lengua extranjera en situaci車n de no inmersi車n. Los niveles de espa ol de los participantes son B1, C1 y C2. Los objetivos de la investigaci車n se han centrado en analizar algunos aspectos de la adecuaci車n socioling邦赤stica y sociocultural de los alumnos, adem芍s de la relaci車n entre la adecuaci車n y el grado de formaci車n (nivel de estudios del espa ol). Nos interesa tambi谷n observar en qu谷 grado y en qu谷 niveles los alumnos tienden a trasladar a la lengua y la cultura meta pautas de conducta de su propia cultura. Pretendemos fomentar la concienciaci車n sobre la importancia de la adecuaci車n intercultural, pues partimos del supuesto de que se debe ense ar la cultura de una lengua de manera progresiva en todos los niveles, planificando los objetivos y los contenidos y aumentando el grado de dificultad en funci車n del nivel de competencia ling邦赤stica y sin perjudicar al resto de las competencias. This paper approaches the issue of adequacy as a component of sociolinguistic, sociocultural and intercultural competence in the learning of Spanish as a foreign language. To accomplish this aim, we carry out a quantitative statistical type of research with the software SPSS 17 (Statistical Product and Service Solutions), in which we apply a descriptive and inferential analysis. The instrument used is a questionnaire and the participants are 59 Bulgarian students who study Spanish as a foreign language in a non-immersion context. The levels of the participants are B1, C1 and C2. It is our purpose to analyse some aspects concerning the sociolinguistic and sociocultural adequacy of students, amongst them the relation between adequacy and level of Spanish of the participants. Likewise, we pay attention to the degree in which the students tend to transfer to the target language and culture patterns pertaining to their own culture. We seek to raise awareness about the importance of intercultural adequacy, because we believe that culture of a foreign language must be taught progressively in all levels.
