There are specialized magazines, events, and lines and groups of study that have developed several investigations on the topic. In the school context, school books are a source of information widely used by teachers and students, besides receiving great investment from the government. Due to this fact, this paper intends to map recent studies such as articles in specialized magazines, dissertations and theses presented from 2000 to 2010 which tackle the themes of ¡®environmental education¡¯ and ¡®school books¡¯. After surveying the literature, 13 articles, 32 dissertations and 1 thesis were found that dealt with this subject. The data collected revealed that most of the research is disjointed and restricted to the analysis of school books with very few relating the school book to its use and conception from the point of view of teachers, students and scholars. This demonstrates that research involving environmental education and school books still needs to investigate several issues such as the use of school books by students and teachers, or even relate different subjects, grades, teaching methods, historical moments, environmental education trends, varied research methodologies, including the processes or didactic conversion and adaptation of the knowledge contained in the school books, and even classroom work.Resumo: A educa o ambiental apresenta-se atualmente como um vasto campo de pesquisa. Existem revistas especializadas, eventos, linhas e grupos de pesquisas que desenvolvem diversas investiga es sobre esse assunto. E, no contexto escolar, o livro did¨¢tico se apresenta como uma fonte de informa es bastante utilizada por professores e estudantes, al¨¦m de receber grande investimento pelo governo. Frente a esse cen¨¢rio, este artigo teve como objetivo mapear as investiga es recentes, como artigos publicados em revistas especializadas, disserta es e teses defendidas entre os anos de 2000 a 2010 que relacionam os temas ¡°educa o ambiental¡± e ¡°livro did¨¢tico¡±. Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliogr¨¢fica foram localizados 13 artigos, 32 disserta es e uma tese com tal rela o tem¨¢tica. Diante dos dados, observou-se que a maior parte das pesquisas apresenta-se desarticulada e se mant¨¦m restrita ¨¤ an¨¢lise dos livros did¨¢ticos, e poucas buscam relacionar o livro did¨¢tico com o seu uso e concep es por parte dos professores, alunos e acad¨ºmicos.
