%X En b¨²squeda de otras voces que hablen de pol¨ªtica, el presente ensayointenta encontrar en la literatura pol¨ªtica de Paz, rastros que permitan establecer un itinerario pragmatista. No se trata tanto de encontrar, a modo de los estudios de recepci¨®n, las huellas de las lecturas pragmatistas de Octavio Paz como de sostener que en el temperamento y sobre todo en las modificaciones de su pensamiento pol¨ªtico pueden encontrarse motivos de reflexi¨®n actual sobre las democracias latinoamericanas. El valor de la libertad, la supremac¨ªa de la democracia y el esp¨ªritu de experimentaci¨®npresentes en su obra, nos acercan a una posibilidad com¨²n en Iberoam¨¦rica de pensar la Democracia con actitud pragmatista. En este ensayo propongo utilizar a Paz desde el Pragmatismo para narrar la pol¨ªtica democr¨¢tica desde otras orillas, vitalmente comprometida con la reforma social, expresando a la vez una forma cultural y una pedagog¨ªa.In search of Other Voices related to politics, the present essay intends to find in Paz¡¯ political literature traits which enable us to establish a pragmatist route. It is not a question of finding, as in the reception studies, the signs of Paz¡¯ pragmatist reading, but rather to sustain that in the temperament and above all in themodifications of his political thought, reasons for present reflexion over Latinamerican democracies can be found. The value of liberty, the supremacy of democracy and the spirit of experimentation that can be found throughout his work , lead us to share a common possibility to think Democracy with a pragmatist attitude, in all the HispanicWorld. In this essay I intend to use Paz¡¯ heritage from the Pragmatics point of view in order to describe the democratic politics of other latitudes, vitally engaged in social reform, and which express, at the same time, a cultural form and a pedagogy
