%X Se describe una nueva especie de Mediorhynchus (Acanthocephala, Gigantorhynchidae) basada en 36 espec¨ªmenes colectados de 4 individuos de Turdus chiguanco (Lafresnaye & D¡¯Orbigny, 1837). Las aves fueron capturadas en el distrito de Muqui, provincia de Jauja, Jun¨ªn, Per¨². La nueva especie, Mediorhynchus peruensis se caracteriza por la armadura de la prob¨®scide y la longitud de los lemniscos que se extienden hasta la parte media o posterior del test¨ªculo anterior en el macho y hasta la parte media anterior del cuerpo en la hembra. A new species of Mediorhynchus (Acanthocephala, Gigantorhynchidae) is described based on 36 specimens collected from 4 individuals of Turdus chiguanco (Lafresnaye & D¡¯Orbigny, 1837). The birds were captured in the district of Muqui, Jauja Province, Jun¨ªn, Peru. The new species, Mediorhynchus peruensis is characterized by the armature of the proboscis and lemnisci length extending to the middle or back of the anterior testis in the male and to the middle front of the body in the female.
