The quality was assessed in terms of physicochemical, heavy metal andbacteriological parameters. Ten bore wells, ten open wells within the industrial area were analyzed. Three lake water samples (at inlet, center and outlet) were analyzed. Ten open wells and ten bore wells in the vicinity of open drains carrying domestic wastewater were analyzed. Results obtained showed that the total dissolved solids content were little high in Papanasham Lake and the remaining sources are within the permissible limits. The pH ranged from 7.2 to 7.8. Chloride content ranged from137 mg/l to 460 mg/l. All the sources of water are within the permissible limit. The dissolved oxygen content ranged from 5.2 to 6.6 mg/l. Bacteriological indices showed that all the water sources were highly contaminated having high total bacterial counts (410 - 1300 cfu/ml). All the water sources showed presence of fecal coli form (E. coli) and had high coli form counts (620 - 1600 MPN/100ml). %K ndustrial Effluent %K Domestic Sewage %K Well Water %K Bore Well Water %K Lake Water %K Physicochemical %K Heavy Metal and Bacteriological Analysis. %U http://www.ijcsr.co.in/Documents/Volumes/Vol%202%20issue%202/ijcsr201202v2i2(3).pdf
