%X Este art赤culo intenta una aproximaci車n a la temprana presencia de zampo as en los valles occidentales de la macro regi車n cultural conocida como 芍rea Centro Sur Andina, utilizando como base antecedentes arqueol車gicos, etnohist車ricos y musicol車gicos sobre los aer車fonos andinos. Para este efecto, se han estudiado las colecciones arqueol車gicas almacenadas y documentadas en el Museo Universidad de Tarapac芍, San Miguel de Azapa. El trabajo se focaliza en las relaciones cronol車gicas y culturales de las zampo as precolombinas, sus momentos de aparici車n en la zona y su evoluci車n en el tiempo. This article attempts an approach to the early presence of panpipes in the western valleys of the macrocultural region known as South Central Andes, on the basis of archaeological, ethnohistorical and ethnomusicological data on Andean wind instruments gathered from the study of the archaeological collections stored and documented in the Tarapac芍 University Museum at San Miguel de Azapa. The article is focused on establishing the chronological and the cultural relations of these Pre Columbian panpipes along with determining the time of their appearance in the area and their evolution over a period of time.
