%X DTH are the initials from Direct To Home, a system allowing the transmission of more TV programs in a single package, programs that can be received by a digital installation, directly from the satellite, in any place from its covering area (the so called ( footprint¡±). The system supposes that the programs are received from a single satellite after they have been ¡°gathered¡± from all the satellites they are broadcast from and ¡°grouped¡± in one ¡°package¡±. For Romania this television system is relatively new, yet it has registered a boom. Therefore the present study is an overview of the present situation.
