%X Fish production in a water body is directly or indirectly dependent on the abundance of plankton. The physico-chemical properties of water determine the quality and quantity of plankton. During the study of plankton, a link in the food chain is a prerequisite to understand the capacity of the water body to support the fisheries. Plankton is most essential for many fishes as food.
