%X La valoraci車n cl赤nica del paciente con trauma craneal siempre ha sido un cap赤tulo reservado para el neurocirujano, concepci車n err車nea si se parte del hecho de que el 80 % de los casos que llegan al cuerpo de guardia presentan un trauma craneal leve y puede ser atendidos por cualquier m谷dico general. Se revis車 exhaustivamente el tema desde el punto de vista cl赤nico, intentando demostrar la importancia de dominar las manifestaciones cl赤nicas y la evoluci車n natural de la lesi車n cerebral primaria producida por un trauma craneal, para poder actuar de forma r芍pida y segura. Ocasionalmente, por inexperiencia, el m谷dico circunscribe su atenci車n a la lesi車n craneal, y otros la relega a un segundo plano. S車lo la visi車n cl赤nica detallada y el examen neurol車gico b芍sico permiten un diagn車stico certero. Las autoras de quisieron contribuir con este trabajo a la orientaci車n diagn車stica y terap谷utica del m谷dico ante el paciente neurotraum芍tico, y de esa forma lograr disminuir la morbimortalidad por esta patolog赤a en la provincia de Matanzas. The clinical evaluation of the patient with cranial trauma has always been a chapter reserved for the neurosurgeon, an erroneous conception if we take into the account the fact that the 80 % of the cases arriving to the emergency unit have a slight cranial trauma and may be attended by any physiologist. We exhaustively reviewed the theme from the clinical point of view, trying to show the importance of knowing the clinical manifestations and the natural evolution of the primary cerebral lesion produced by a cranial trauma, to act in a fast and secure way. Occasionally, for inexperience, the physician pays attention only to the cranial lesion, and other times he relegates it to a second plane. Only the detailed clinical vision and the basic neurological examination allow an accurate diagnosis. The authors would like to contribute with this work to the therapeutic and diagnostic orientation of the physician toward the neurotraumatized patient, to diminish the morbidity and mortality of this disease in the province of Matanzas.
