%X La ciencia y la t谷cnica, en su imperioso andar, irrumpen en la vida del ser humano, influyendo en su pensamiento, intereses, necesidades y valores. Los potentes adelantos cient赤fico-t谷cnicos se convierten, cada vez m芍s, en fuerzas productivas que coadyuvan a la gratificaci車n de los intereses y necesidades de las personas, y al aumento de sus capacidades cognoscitivas. En el presente trabajo, con el prop車sito de reafirmar la importancia de la formaci車n 谷tica dentro de las ciencias m谷dicas, se exploraron de manera particular los eventos m芍s relevantes en el desarrollo cient赤fico-tecnol車gico de la medicina, as赤 como los conflictos 谷ticos que enfrent車 y enfrenta la humanidad. Se analiz車 tambi谷n el rol de la educaci車n m谷dica superior dentro de la formaci車n de la 谷tica m谷dica. A trav谷s de la revisi車n bibliogr芍fica, los autores evidenciaron que el desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnolog赤a permitieron la prevenci車n y el control de muchas enfermedades, la certeza en el diagn車stico y el tratamiento en las diferentes patolog赤as con la aplicaci車n de los conocimientos destinados al beneficio social del ser humano. Se constat車 que durante la evoluci車n de las ciencias m谷dicas sucedieron en el proceso, pr芍cticas indebidas en seres humanos, violatorias de la 谷tica m谷dica. Se alaron adem芍s el rol que juega la educaci車n m谷dica superior como eslab車n fundamental en el desarrollo de esta ciencia. Science and technology, in their imperious development, burst into men's life, influencing their thoughts, interests, necessities and values. Potent scientific-technical advances become more and more productive forces, helping to satisfy men∩s interests and necessities and increasing their cognitive capacity. The current work, with the objective of reinforcing the importance of ethical formation in medical sciences, explores in a particular way the most relevant events in medicine scientific-technological development and the ethical conflicts the humankind faced and faces nowadays. We also analyzed the role of high medical education in medical ethic formation. Through the bibliographic review, the authors showed that science and technology allowed to prevent and control many diseases, the diagnostic certainty and treatment of several pathologies applying knowledge for the social benefits of men. We stated that during the evolution of Medical sciences there were undue practices in human beings that violated medical ethics. We called attention to the role high medical education plays as a main step in developing this science.
