%X Se realiz車 un estudio de tipo descriptivo, transversal, con el objetivo de valorar el comportamiento y los conocimientos que poseen las adolescentes obesas sobre la obesidad, sus causas y consecuencias en el Policl赤nico Universitario Reynold Garc赤a. Para ello se emple車 una encuesta an車nima a un grupo de 20 adolescentes femeninas, obesas, con 赤ndice de masa corporal superior a 30 Kg/m2, entre 10 y 19 a os. Los datos fueron procesados y se expresaron los resultados en tablas y gr芍ficos. Result車 significativo que las adolescentes ten赤an, en su mayor赤a, desconocimiento sobre las consecuencias de la obesidad. No obstante, se destac車 que el aspecto m芍s conocido result車 ser el trastorno psicol車gico. Adem芍s exist赤an adolescentes con dietas inadecuadas que favorecen la aparici車n de la obesidad, y a la vez se constat車 que todas eran sedentarias, siendo estos elementos factores de riesgo para desarrollar la obesidad. Se arrib車 a la conclusi車n de que no exist赤a conocimiento adecuado sobre la obesidad, sus causas y consecuencias en las adolescentes obesas del estudio, lo que propicia un comportamiento inadecuado en las mismas. We carried out a descriptive, transversal study with the objective of evaluating the behavior and knowledge the obese teenagers have on obesity, its causes and consequences in the University Policlinic Reynold Garc赤a. With that objective, we applied a blind poll in a group of 20 10-to-19-years-old female teenagers, with corporal mass higher that 30 Kg/m2. Data were processed and the results expressed in tables and graphics. It was significant that most of the adolescent had lack of knowledge on the consequences of obesity, although, the most known fact was the psychological disturbance. Besides that, there were teenagers on inadequate diets favouring obesity, also stating that all of them were sedentary, being all of these risk facts for developing obesity. We arrived to the conclusion that they did not have an adequate knowledge on obesity, its causes and consequences, propitiating an inadequate behaviour of them.
