%X El objetivo del trabajo fue describir la Revista M¨¦dica Electr¨®nica, de Matanzas, realizando un estudio de los art¨ªculos publicados entre los a os 2003 y 2009. Se analizaron 531 trabajos, obteniendo informaci¨®n sobre la cantidad de art¨ªculos publicados por a os analizados, el promedio de art¨ªculos en cada n¨²mero de la revista, la especialidad del primer autor, la cantidad de docentes de las especialidades m¨¦dicas, el motivo de la publicaci¨®n, los municipios e instituciones de salud donde se realizaron las investigaciones, y el por ciento de art¨ªculos publicados por municipios e instituciones de salud. Se registr¨® un promedio de 75 art¨ªculos por a o y 12,6 art¨ªculos por n¨²mero de la revista. Las especialidades m¨¢s representadas de los principales autores fueron: Cirug¨ªa General, Microbiolog¨ªa, Neurocirug¨ªa, Ortodoncia, Ortopedia y Traumatolog¨ªa, Cardiolog¨ªa, Gastroenterolog¨ªa, Embriolog¨ªa M¨¦dica, Inmunolog¨ªa, Medicina Natural Tradicional, Pediatr¨ªa y Radiolog¨ªa. Por su parte, se constat¨® que fue bajo el por ciento de los docentes que publicaron. Asimismo, predomin¨® el inter¨¦s personal como el motivo de la publicaci¨®n. Matanzas, C¨¢rdenas, Col¨®n y Varadero fueron los municipios que m¨¢s han contribuido. Se comprob¨® que las instituciones que m¨¢s aportaron fueron la Universidad de Ciencias M¨¦dicas Dr. Juan Guiteras Gener, de Matanzas, as¨ª como los hospitales de la provincia. The aim of our study was describing Revista M¨¦dica Electr¨®nica, of Matanzas, reviewing the articles published between 2003 and 2009. 531 articles were analyzed, obtaining information on the quantity of published articles per analyzed years, the average of articles published in each number of the journal, the specialty of the first author, the quantity of the docents of each medical specialty, the motivation of the publication, municipalities and health institutions where investigations were developed, and percent of published articles per municipalities and health institutions. We recorded an average of 75 articles per year and 12,6 articles per number. The most representative specialties of the main authors were: General Surgery, Microbiology, Neurosurgery, Orthodontics, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Medical Embryology, Immunology, Traditional Natural Medicine, Pediatrics and Radiology. We stated that a low percent of docents published their work. We also stated that there was a predominance of personal interests as motivation of the publication.
