Singhai %J International Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences %D 2011 %I %R 10.5138/176 %X The purpose of the present research work was develop once-daily sustained-release matrix tablet containing water-soluble drug (Diltiazem) that is a novel calcium channel blocker used in cardiovascular diseases, by utilizing a combination of Hypromellose (HPMC), Eudragit with different grades and finally milled Ethyl cellulose. Tablets were prepared by the wet granulation method. The prepared granules and tablets were evaluated based on a range of parameters and in vitro drug release profile. Lastly, tablets shown approx 92%, 97% and 99 % drug release at the last dosing interval.
