Lectins activity has been studied using the biological method of ratuserytroagglutination. This method is based on formation of aggregates of lectins and rats erythrocytes. The activity unit was the floor amount of lectins that agglutinate erythrocytes. The protein nature of extracts that agglutinate has been determined using Bradford method. The lectins activity of Zea mays roots was 6,21¡À0,11 unit/mg of protein; of heads ¨C 2,61¡À0,17 unit/mg of protein; of leaves ¨C 0,62 ¡À0,05 unit/mg of protein; of corn silk ¨C 1,06¡À0,08 unit/mg of protein; of stems ¨C 0,97¡À0,09 unit/mg of protein. The greatest lectins activity was in leaves, stems and corn silk. %K Zea mays %K lectins %K lectin activity %U http://archive.nbuv.gov.ua/e-journals/AMI/2013_1/13kuvonl.pdf
