During postmortem examination it necessitates full laboratory investigations including histopathology, bacteriology, biochemistry, serology and toxicology. Coronary atherosclerosis or its sequel is the most responsible cause for almost instantaneous and rapid death. In such cases meticulous and detailed postmortem examination is required with above cited laboratory investigations. Troponin is the biomarker for the detection of cardiac damage as elevated Troponin levels are highly specific for cardiac damage/injury. In recent study we have focused on the application of Troponin study to provide the evidence of cardiac damage. %K Cardiac damage %K coronary atherosclerosis %K death %K heart %K troponin %U http://www.nhlmmc.edu.in/document/volume2.%20issue%201/46-49.pdf
