%X Idiopathic basal ganglia calcification (FahrĄŻs syndrome)causes dementia. However, various forms of cognitiveimpairment and psychopathological symptoms aredescribed in the literature and occur in practice. In thepaper, a 68-year old female patient with FahrĄŻs syndromeis described. The process of medical and psychologicaldiagnosis and methods of therapy are presented.The variety of clinical symptoms in FahrĄŻs syndromeshould make us more careful in medical examination.Assessment of the neuropsychological state of thesepatients should be a routine examination, useful for thelong-term outcome.
