The analysis can becarried out thanks to JOL (judgment of learning)techniques. The aim of our research was to assess: thesubjective evaluation of the level of word listreconstruction, the objective results made whenrecalling, and the similarity (agreement) of these twomeasures in the case of people with right versus lefthemisphere dysfunction.Material and methods: In the research there took part25 neurologically healthy people and 23 people afterischaemic stroke of the right (n = 13) or the left(n = 10) hemisphere. During studies the MemoryEffectiveness Assessment Questionnaire by Giovagnoliwas used together with the Yesavage GeriatricDepression Scale and the assignments of learning10 words (6 trials) preceded by judgment of learning(JOL).Results: It was found that the groups did not differsignificantly in the general assessment of their memory,or when assessing the level of recalling, the level ofreconstructions, and the level of depression. In eachgroup there was a tendency to understate or to overstateone¡¯s own memory abilities. The individual variables(age, years of education) in different ways affected theresults of the people examined in each group. Conclusions: In all the people examined (healthy onesand those with either left or right hemisphere pathology)similarity between predictions (JOL) and performancewas observed. On this basis we may assume that thesymptoms of anosognosia, frequent for patients withright hemisphere dysfunctions, do not have to affect allthe aspects of the cognitive processes. The level of depression of the patients who suffered from stroke ofthe left or right hemisphere and of the healthy peopledid not correlate with the results of memory activities. The obtained data are analysed with reference to thephenomena of unawareness and metamemory. %K self-awareness %K anosognosia %K metamemory %K judgment of learning (JOL) %U http://www.termedia.pl/Artykul-oryginalny-Subiektywna-ocena-wlasnej-pamieci-u-osob-z-uszkodzeniem-prawej-lub-lewej-polkuli-mozgu,46,15718,1,0.html
