We synthesize some pyrimidines by Biginelli condensation method. Novel 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-N-(substitutedphenyl)-6-methyl-4-(4-(phenoxymethyl)phenyl)-2-thioxopyrimidine-5-carboxamide (AB116 to AB130) are synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, Mass spectra, TLC and elemental analysis. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activities(MIC) in vitro against two strains of gram ¨Cve and two strains of gram +ve bacteria and three fungi by broth dilution method.
