%X This article sets out the results of research that aims to determine the characteristics of fishing development in the province of Tarragona not only from the social, territorial, and economic point of view, but also from the perspective of the public policies implemented in this sector. It discusses the role played by the various social, economic and institutional agents, and the importance of the sustainable and  responsible management of fishing. En este art赤culo se exponen los resultados de una investigaci車n que trata de determinar las caracter赤sticas del desarrollo pesquero en la provincia de Tarragona, pero no s車lo desde el punto de vista econ車mico, sino tambi谷n desde el social, el territorial y el de las pol赤ticas p迆blicas instrumentadas para este sector. Nos interrogamos acerca del papel desempe ado por los diferentes actores sociales, econ車micos e institucionales y sobre el significado de la gesti車n pesquera sostenible y responsable.
