%X Paralelamente a la transformaci車n de la Odontolog赤a desde oficio a profesi車n, se desarroll車 un proceso de ense anza-aprendizaje, objeto de la did芍ctica, que relaciona al maestro con sus alumnos a trav谷s de la cultura. En ese sentido, es importante conocer los principales componentes del proceso de profesionalizaci車n de la Odontolog赤a: el proceso ense anza-aprendizaje en los primitivos y primeros emp赤ricos, el accionar de las asociaciones gremiales, las relaciones con el Estado, con otras profesiones y ocupaciones del campo de la salud y, finalmente, la inserci車n en la Universidad; para tal efecto, se plantean varios apartes. El objeto de estudio de esta revisi車n es la Odontolog赤a como profesi車n y la pregunta a resolver es  Qu谷 caracter赤sticas acad谷micas se manifiestan en la transformaci車n del oficio de dentista al profesional en Odontolog赤a? Parallel to the transformation from the dental profession to profession, developed a teaching-learning process, the subject of teaching, which connects teachers with students through their culture. In this regard it is important to know the main components of the process of professionalization of dentistry: the teaching and learning in the early first empirical, the actions of trade associations, relations with the state, with other professions and occupations in the field of health and eventually into the University for such purpose, there are several sections. The aim of this review is to study dentistry as a profession and to address the question what academic characteristics are manifested in the transformation of the profession of dental professionals in dentistry?
